So you probably want to know if I’m real. “Is this guy actually involved in fighting climate change, or did he just see a movement and try to capitalize on it?”

I started out in digital marketing working for an SEO content mill, writing blogs and websites for heavy polluting clients. One of the clients was a Teflon coating company.

When I had to research it initially, I found more articles talking about whole communities dying or getting super rare forms of cancer, rather than what I was looking for, which was—you know—the benefits of Teflon… Holy fuck, maybe I shouldn’t be writing for this shit. 

So they ended up adding an extra shift to their production line to handle the increase in orders after I started writing for them—I guess that’s my big contribution to climate change. Anyway, fuck this, I thought, and quit.

I went freelance and now I work with companies and organizations fighting the climate crisis. And I love it.

I also have a B.A. in Creative Writing, written for newspapers, published poetry, won and essay content, taught English in Taiwan, and and now I live in Taiwan again. So if you get emails from me at weird hours, well, it’s really no different than if I were still in the US.

Oh and my mom taught science for about 40 years, so I was learning about melting ice caps way back. That probably influenced me a bit. Ask me how my dad feels about plastic pollution.
